Kaja Włostowska was born 2000 in Warsaw, Poland and has been playing percussion since the age of 7. After finishing her primary education in Warsaw she continued her studies in Germany, Austria and France. Over the years she gained valuable experience as an ensemble and orchestra musician as well as a soloist. In the last years she began composing and creating her own projects.

Kaja Włostowska's works and performances are interdisciplinary; she often shares the stage with actors, dancers, singers, etc. She confidently displays her artistic skills on stage, captivating her audience. Since 2021 she also performs in famous jazz clubs like "Porgy & Bess" in Vienna or "Kiste" in Stuttgart as a jazz vibraphonist and improviser. Kaja is a member of “Colores”, a world-jazz ensemble where she explores the world of traditional instruments from around the globe.

Kaja also enjoys working with children and adults, giving workshops where she makes people aware of improvisation and the versatility of sounds using percussion instruments as an example. Since January 2022 she has been collaborating with Jeunesse Musicale and "OORKAAN Academy", developing new kinds of interdisciplinary concert concepts. She is featured in “Elektrische Fische”, an opera for young audiences, where she uses her skills as a musician as well as an actress. “Elektrische Fische” is a colaboration between the State Opera of Vienna, Jeunesse Musicale and OORKAAN.

Currently, Kaja is pioneering innovative musical projects that blur the lines between music and theater. She explores the role of the body and movement in performance, experimenting with genres from neoclassical to jazz. Her classical training, combined with a penchant for improvisation, has opened up a world of musical possibilities. Continuing her studies with a Master in Percussion at MUK, Kaja remains dedicated to refining her artistic expression.

Looking ahead, Kaja dreams of engaging more and more in creative projects where she enjoys the creative freedom and challenge of being both a musician and an actress on stage. She aims to be part of groundbreaking projects that fuse music, dance, and theater into a cohesive artistic experience, aiming to touch and inspire audiences in novel ways.
